A New Studio!!!! Now what do I do with it?

We are moving! The husband, kids and I are moving tomorrow. Our new house is finished and I will finally have a place to call my own. My own STUDIO!! (Well, I will have to share it with the family computer.) For the last several years, I have been painting at the kitchen bar, or at the desk in my bedroom. I have been stashing my paints, brushes, papers canvases, crafty items and other supplies here and there because they had no home. So, I am asking a favor to my artist and crafter friends. Give me your ideas about how to organize such a mess of stuff! If you have posted ideas on your blogs, I would love to have a link!

oh , ann! i love your work...happy moving and have fun setting up. my main tip would be to keep the most used items within reach and store the occasional things.

I've had my own art room for a few years now, and I don't have any good suggestions. (see my blog post "yeah, I'm a slob") My art supplies still end up all over the house, and this includes couches and the coffee table.
Thanks for your comment on my blog!

Hi Ann, such wonderful news about your move. That you'll have your own space for your art. A real big present to an artist.
Idea's, mmmmmmm?
lots of shelves were you can reach easily with labelled boxes. I am not too organized myself. I tend to tidy the table when I cannot get the canvas on it to paint on. Which is really bad of me.
Thank you for visiting my blog. Lovely to hear from you.
Reading Amariah, message. Are any of us artist tidy? Or does messy rooms come with the trade, lol?

Hope you moved happily, and utilized that lovely new room, just for you.

I love your art and would like to feature it on my blog soon.

I've awarded you the Proximidade Award. See the details on my blog. Cut and paste the award to your page, if you want it, and do as much, or as little, as you wish with the forwarding instructions. It takes up a lot of time!

Best wishes.

Love you art and wish you the best in your new place. Use tall, see through, containers for your brushes. I have found that using clear and colorful tall vases work well for my brushes. Occasionally I will slip in an artifical flower for fun. The more color the better. You can now purchase colorful plastic shoe like size boxes which are somewhat translucent. You could have one color for oils, one for watercolors, one for your drawing items. Make it colorful and the somewhat disorganization of it all won't be as depressing.
