A PAINTING A WEEK. One of my goals for the new year is to do a painting a week. I hope that I will be able to keep up and post them here. I will make the original available to purchase either online or at a gallery
This painting is 12X24 on gallery wrapped canvas, in mixed media. It is painted in acrylic with collage elements. I have titled it "Heirloom". I was inspired by an article in a design mag featuring heirloom rugs. They were so beautiful and interesting. I have imitated the patterns in these rugs on the dress and also collaged some actual photos of the rugs in her dress. Thrown in to all of this are fun pieces that I would consider to be "heirloom". There is a portrait in an ornate frame and even a silver gravy boat. This painting is currently being shown at Evergreen Gallery.
